Since the age of 5, I started to play piano by ear. Everything I heard on TV, Radio, Theater Shows I tried to “catch” by ear. At the age of 6, I already could play around 35 songs(melodies) by heart. As time went by, I became interested in jazz music and the internet was just in the beginning, so there was no YouTube, no Spotify, and jazz education materials were not very accessible. But I had a great jazz piano teacher who gave me a cassette tape with the songs by Kenny Barron, Michel Camilo, Chick Corea and fell in love with all of them. Kenny belongs to my top 3 the most favorite jazz pianists, so you’ll find a bunch of transcriptions of his solos in my store. During my studies at the jazz conservatory and music academy, I have been to many jazz workshops with the greatest jazz heroes like Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, Aaron Parks, Dave Kikoski, and Dado Moroni, but jazz requires a study for a lifetime and that’s why I started to transcribe jazz piano solos. Like in the old times. Everything is learned by ear. Music sheets are used just as a guideline.
